40 lakh children of Jharkhand will get free school bags. Government made a big change in the rules of distribution:

News India Live, Digital Desk: There is good news for the children studying in government schools of Jharkhand. Now children will be able to get quality school bags along with books and uniforms on time. The state government has now abolished the old ‘district wise’ system of distributing school bags. ‘State level centralized’ It has been decided to implement the system.

What has changed in the rules?

Earlier the process of school bag distribution was quite complicated, which caused delay in reaching the bags to the children:

Old system: Earlier the company was selected on the basis of bid, then each district used to make separate orders and agreements at its own level. Due to this, the time of receiving the bags was also different in different districts.

New Order (Centralized Order): Now orders will be issued simultaneously for all the districts from the state level itself. With this, children of the entire state will be able to get bags at the same time (by April-May).

Delivery directly to the block: The company that gets the tender will deliver the bags directly to the block level, from where schools will receive them.

Highlights of the Scheme

Beneficiary: All students from classes 1 to 8 (approximately 40 lakh children).

Cost: government per bag ₹160 Will spend at the rate of Rs.

quality check: After bag distribution, department district wise Surprise Inspection Will do. By taking random samples, it will be checked whether the bags are of the same quality as the order was placed.

Objective: To encourage poor children towards education and reduce the ‘dropout’ rate in schools.

Other facilities provided by Jharkhand government

Apart from school bags, the following things are also given free to children by Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC):

Free text books and note books.

Uniform (two sets), shoes and socks.

Mid-Day Meal.

Cycle scheme for girl students of class 9-12.
