8th Pay Commission for UP employees: The time for the 7th Pay Commission is about to end and lakhs of government employees of Uttar Pradesh are now eagerly waiting for the 8th Pay Commission. The question in everyone’s mind is how much will their salary increase this time. Preparations are going on by the government for the Eighth Pay Commission and meanwhile, a big news has come out, according to which the salary of the employees can increase up to three times. What is fitment factor, which increases your salary?

First of all it is important to know what is ‘fitment factor’. This is a number by which your basic salary is multiplied to determine the new salary. That is, your salary is calculated on the basis of the fitment factor applied by the Pay Commission.

Let us understand this with an example: Suppose your basic salary is Rs 20,000 and the fitment factor is fixed at 2.57. So your new basic salary will be Rs 20,000 x 2.57 = Rs 51,400. In this way, fitment factor plays the most important role in increasing your salary.

So how much can the salary increase this time?

It is expected that the fitment factor in the Eighth Pay Commission may be kept up to 2.86. If this happens, it will be no less than a jackpot for the employees. With this, their basic salary may not double, but may increase almost three times.

For example, for Level-1 employees whose basic salary is currently Rs 18,000, after applying the fitment factor of 2.86, their new basic salary will directly be around Rs 51,480 (18,000 x 2.86). By multiplying your basic salary with this formula, you can also estimate how big a jump there can be in your salary.

What did the government say on the 8th Pay Commission?

According to the information received from the government, the 8th Pay Commission is set to be implemented from January 1, 2026. However, no official announcement or notification has been issued regarding this yet, nor have the names of the members of the commission been revealed. But it is expected that the government may soon take a major decision on this and the wait of the employees may be over.
