Big news is coming out for eastern Uttar Pradesh! The much awaited Gorakhpur Link Expressway is now going to start officially, which will give new pace to connectivity and economic development in this region. This ambitious project will connect Purvanchal Expressway directly to Gorakhpur, and the special thing is that its goal is to open for vehicle operations in July.
Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Eupida) has finalized the construction of this 91 km long four-lane expressway, which started in February 2020. It is constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 5,550 crore. The expressway starts from the southeastern part of Gorakhpur city, Jaitpur village (NH-27 on Gorakhpur bypass) and is found in Salarpur village with Purvanchal Expressway in Azamgarh district. It also passes through Deoria district.
The biggest advantage of this link expressway will be that now the journey from Gorakhpur to Lucknow can be completed within 90 minutes, whereas earlier it used to take about 5-6 hours. This will prove to be a game changer for areas whose residents required better road connectivity for a long time. The expressway will not only save time for passengers, but will also provide a fast and efficient route for freight and logistics.
In addition, industrial corridors are also being developed around this expressway. The Uttar Pradesh government has prepared plans to promote economic development and employment generation in this region. In the coming time, this expressway will not only be a means of transport, but will also become an important pillar of prosperity and development of Purvanchal region.
