News India Live, Digital Desk: Aadhaar Enrollment: In today’s digital age, Aadhaar card has become the most important document of our identity. It is necessary for the elders to update Aadhaar from time to time, but now the Unique Identification Authority of India UIDAI has taken a very important and special decision regarding the Aadhaar card of children. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the frequent changing nature of children’s biometric data, so that their Aadhaar cards are always the latest and valid.
According to UIDAI’s new instructions, now every parent will have to compulsorily update their child’s Aadhaar card in two important stages. The first update will be when the child is five years old, and the second update when he is fifteen years old. The biometric details of the child at these two certain ages, such as fingerprints (fingerprints) and scanning of eye pupils, have been made mandatory to update to the Aadhaar card.
Indeed, children’s fingerprints and iris scans continue to change because they are growing. As children grow older, there are significant changes in their fingers and the pupils of the eyes. Therefore, it is extremely important to ensure that the biometric information recorded in their Aadhaar card is always in line with their current physical development. This is why UIDAI has made 5 years and 15 years of age compulsory for this biometric update. Its Aadhaar card will be considered completely valid and effective only after the child has biometric updates on these ages.
There is also a relief here that UIDAI has given a special facility for children’s first Aadhaar enrollment (child base) and biometric updates at the age of 5 years. Children under 5 years of age can be built ‘child base’ when their parents’ biometric information is used, as the biometric scars of young children are unstable. The good news is that no fee will be charged to keep ‘Child Aadhaar’ active till the age of 5 and update it at the age of 5 years. This will be a free process, so that parents do not have to face any type of financial obstacle in updating their children’s Aadhaar.
The main objective of this initiative of UIDAI is to ensure a reliable and legitimate identity for children. It will also be helpful in availing various government schemes and services for children, such as school admission, scholarships, and other services related to child welfare. Parents are advised not to forget to update the Aadhaar of their children on these scheduled age, so that they can take all the necessary benefits without any hassle and their identity is always accurate.
