Teacher nation builder, CM Mann appeals, tell children the glorious history of Punjab:

News India Live, Digital Desk: Education revolution Punjab: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has made an emotional appeal to the teachers of the state. On the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, he has asked the teachers to inform the younger generation about their rich and glorious heritage and make them aware of its importance. The Chief Minister believes that teachers are the nation builder, and in this sense it is their biggest responsibility to connect the youth with their roots.

Why is this initiative important?

Bhagwant Mann said on this occasion that education is not just a profession, but a mission to groom the future of the students. He believes that teachers should tell the youth about the cultural history, struggles and great personalities of Punjab. This will not only understand their identity, but will also create a sense of pride towards their state and country. The Chief Minister also said that by honoring teachers, we are accepting his role as nation builder. In ancient times, the word Guru was considered ‘to remove darkness’ and it is the duty of the teacher to illuminate the minds of his students with the light of knowledge.

Government’s efforts for education and heritage

CM Mann said that the state government is bringing revolutionary changes in the field of education. He informed that after 55 years, the state government has started the construction of heritage road leading to Takht Shri Kesgarh Sahib, which is a big step towards saving the heritage of Punjab. Apart from this, programs like ‘School of Excellence’ have been started to improve government schools and teachers are being sent abroad for world class training.

The Chief Minister also praised the excellent work of teachers during the recent floods, where 3200 government schools and 19 colleges were damaged, yet the teachers faced challenges.

The government is also running a campaign against drug addiction and Bhagwant Mann has appealed to the teachers to include the youth in it. They believe that only teachers can show the right path to the children and protect them from the marsh.

The emphasis of CM Mann is that the children of Punjab not only get good education, but they should also know about their rich cultural heritage and values. This will help in realizing her dream of ‘Rangla Punjab’.
