A massive fire broke out in a 3-storey house of a real estate businessman in Lucknow. Innocent children were standing at the window and screaming.

News India Live, Digital Desk: In the early hours of Thursday, April 2, 2026, a massive fire broke out in the three-storey house of a real estate businessman in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. During this incident that took place in Daroga Kheda area on Kanpur Road, 7 members of his family, including a businessman, his wife and children, who were sleeping on the second floor of the house, got trapped in the flames and smoke. Within no time the fire took a huge form and the exit from the main gate was closed. As soon as the information was received, the police and fire brigade team reached the spot and placed a ladder on the window and took everyone out safely one by one.

Short circuit caused havoc, family was sleeping According to the information received, real estate businessman Ajay Rastogi lives in his three-storey building named ‘Parth Republic’ located on Daroga Kheda main road. A fire broke out in the lower part of the house at around 4 am on Thursday due to a short circuit. Before the family could understand anything, the flames reached the second floor and the entire house was filled with poisonous black smoke. When the family woke up due to fire and heat, they found themselves in the circle of death.

Children stood at the window and screamed The fire was so severe that it became impossible to escape through the stairs and the main gate. Businessman Ajay Rastogi, wife Anita, daughter Sheetal, son Vinayak, niece Tannu and 6-year-old innocent Viranika stood near the window and started shouting for help. Amidst the chaos, the family members were even ready to jump from above to save their lives. Meanwhile, Sarojininagar police and fire station officials reached the spot. Three vehicles of the fire brigade immediately took charge and rescued everyone through the window by placing a ladder.

The fire was brought under control after 3 hours of effort. Considering the magnitude of the fire, a hydraulic platform was also ordered from Hazratganj fire station. CFO Ankush Mittal and the team of firefighters entered the building wearing breathing apparatus (BA set) and after about 3 hours of hard work, completely brought the fire under control. In the accident, Tannu, a member of the family, got scared and jumped down, due to which she suffered a minor injury to her leg, while the rest of the family members and their pet dog are safe.

Caution is the best protection CFO said that in the preliminary investigation, short circuit appears to be the cause of the fire. He has appealed to keep checking electrical appliances and wiring during the summer season, so that such accidents can be avoided. At present the damage caused by the fire is being assessed.
