With the construction of these expressways, not only will travel in 30 districts become like butter, but it will also give a tremendous boost to industry and tourism in these areas. So, let us tell you about those big projects which are going to change the face of UP.
1. Chitrakoot Link Expressway: Now it will be easy to reach Chitrakoot Dham
This 120 km long expressway will directly connect Chitrakoot with Varanasi and Banda. This means that now religious journey will become even easier. It is targeted to be completed by the end of 2026.
2. Vindhya Expressway: The longest expressway of UP
This 320 km long expressway will prove to be a game-changer. It will start from Prayagraj and go to Sonbhadra via Mirzapur, Varanasi and Chandauli. This project costing about ₹23,000 crore will change the face of entire Purvanchal.
3. Jalaun Link Expressway: New lifeline of Bundelkhand
This 115 kilometer expressway will directly connect Jalaun district to Bundelkhand Expressway. With its construction, there is full hope that the prices of land here will increase and industrial development will accelerate.
4. Jewar Link Expressway: Now reaching the airport will be faster
This expressway will directly connect Yamuna Expressway to Noida International Airport being built in Jewar. This will not only make it easier to reach the airport, but it will also connect Yamuna and Ganga Expressways via Bulandshahr.
5. Vindhya-Purvanchal Link Expressway: Eastern UP will get new momentum
This 100 km long expressway will connect Vindhya Expressway near Chandauli with Purvanchal Expressway near Ghazipur. This will give new heights to trade and tourism in Eastern UP.
6. Meerut-Haridwar Link Expressway: Religious journey even easier
Now the journey between Meerut-Haridwar is going to be even faster. Ghaziabad-Meerut Expressway will now be extended up to Haridwar. It will also be connected to the Ganga Expressway coming from Prayagraj.
7. Chitrakoot-Rewa Link Expressway: UP will connect to MP
This 70 kilometer long expressway will be built to connect Uttar Pradesh with Madhya Pradesh. It will also be connected to the Bundelkhand Expressway, which will make trade and travel between the two states much easier.
8. Link connecting Agra-Lucknow Expressway to Ganga Expressway
This new 90 km link will directly connect the Agra-Lucknow Expressway to the Ganga Expressway via Farrukhabad, thereby further strengthening the connectivity of Western UP.
Work on these projects has either started or preparations are in the final stages. It is clear that in the coming few years, the roads of Uttar Pradesh will not only be for driving vehicles but will also be a yardstick for measuring the pace of development.
