Rare species found in Seshachalam: A rare creature is found in the forest of Seshachalam, where the famous religious site of Tirupati Tirumala Temple is located. It is being told that this is the first time this animal has been seen.

This snake -like scink with transparent eyelids and specific stripes is a special attraction here. The organism found in the eastern ghats of the Seshachalam Reserve Forest is also found in the Amarabad Tiger Reserve of Telangana.

ZSI Director Dr. Dhruti Banerjee said that this new species is a symbol of biodiversity. With the introduction of this new creature, it is further strengthened that Tirumala forest areas can have many more mysterious creatures.

This research was completed in collaboration with scientists of Hyderabad Center of Indian Zoological Survey, Repurence Department of Kolkata and scientists of the Museum of Natural History of London, Dr. Deepa Jaiswal, spokesperson of ZSI. He said that this research would prove to be a major milestone in biodiversity conservation.
