News India Live, Digital Desk: Every year a very special and holy day is celebrated on the Chaturdashi date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month, which we know by the name of Anant Chaturdashi. This year, this festival is very important for two reasons. One is the day of farewell of Ganapati Bappa, and second, this day is dedicated to the infinite form of Lord Vishnu.

It is believed that on this day, if someone fasts with a true heart and binds ‘infinite sutra’ on his wrist, then all the sufferings and obstacles of his life go away.

Come on, today we tell you everything related to this fast that you want to know – in very simple language.

What is this miraculous ‘infinite sutra’?

The main part of the worship of Anant Chaturdashi is ‘Anant Sutra’. This is not a minor thread.

  • It is a thread of silk or cotton, which is painted in turmeric.
  • Fourteen (14) lumps are placed in it.
  • These 14 knots are considered to be a symbol of the 14 worlds of Lord Vishnu.
  • After worshiping, men tie it on the wrist of their right hand and women on the wrist of their left hand.
  • It is believed that this thread acts like a defense-formula and protects us from every trouble.

How to worship Anant Chaturdashi? (Simple worship method)

You can worship this day very easily at home.

  1. Wake up early in the morning and take a bath and wear clean clothes.
  2. Clean the temple or worship house and install a picture or idol of Lord Vishnu on a post.
  3. Install a urn. Place a picture of Lord Vishnu lying on the bed of Sheshnag on it, in which Goddess Lakshmi is accompanied by her.
  4. Now place the ‘Anant Sutra’ in front of Lord Vishnu.
  5. Worship Lord Vishnu and Anant Sutra with Panchopchar (ie turmeric, sandalwood, incense, lamp and naivedya).
  6. In worship, it is considered very auspicious to offer pudding or flour pudding and Malpua.
  7. After this, definitely read or listen to the fast story of Anant Chaturdashi.
  8. After the story, tell God your wish and chant the mantra “Om Anantaya Namah” and tie that formula on your wrist.

Story of Fasting: When an insult to a thread was very heavy

A long time ago there was a Brahmin named Sumant. She had a very gentle and pious daughter, named Sushila. When Sushila grew up, she was married to Kaundinya sage.

After marriage, when Kaundinya Rishi was going home with his wife Sushila, it was night on the way. Sushila saw that some women were worshiping on the river bank. On asking, she told that she is fasting for infinite God and this thread protects from every crisis. Sushila also learned the rules of the fast there and tied the infinite sutra on her wrist.

Due to the effect of that thread, happiness and prosperity came in the house of Kaundinya sage. There was happiness everywhere. One day Kaundinya sage’s eyes fell on the thread tied on Sushila’s wrist. He felt that this was a simple dora. In anger, he asked if this thread has tied you? And saying this, he broke the thread and threw it into the fire.

From the day that thread was insulted, their bad days started from the same day. All his wealth was over, poverty came in the house and they started to remain unhappy. When Sushila reminded him that all this happened due to insulting the infinite God, the sage realized his mistake.

He went to the forest to repent and started searching for infinite God. Even after finding a lot, when God was not found, he was disappointed and was going to give up his life. Then Lord Vishnu appeared as an old Brahmin and gave him knowledge. He said that you got grief due to your bad deeds. Now you have repentance, then go home and fast for Anant Chaturdashi for 14 years, all your sufferings will go away. Kaundinya sage did the same thing and he got all his happiness and prosperity back.

This story teaches us that we should never insult faith and faith.
