A large number of youth from Punjab go abroad with the hope of a better future. The dreams of the youth of going to countries like Canada, America, Italy, Australia and making a bright future are often dashed when they become victims of some accident. One such case has come to light from Hong Kong, where a youth from Faridkot died under mysterious circumstances.
The deceased has been identified as Harpreet Singh. A year ago, Ajay Harpreet Singh was married to a PR girl abroad. The relatives of the deceased say that their son died under discriminatory circumstances. The family has expressed suspicion of murder of Harpreet and they say that Harpreet Singh’s in-laws, who are permanent residents of Hong Kong, were mentally harassing their son.
Harpreet was married last year to Harpreet, a resident of Harraipur village in Bathinda district, who was a permanent resident of Hong Kong. After about 5 months of marriage, Harpreet’s visa came and he went to Hong Kong, but after going there, there was a dispute between the two and Harpreet returned once again. Later, relatives intervened and reached an agreement between the two parties and both went back to Hong Kong. But there Harpreet’s in-laws started harassing her mentally and threatened to pay compensation of one million dollars. Harpreet himself told us about this over the phone.
The family members said that they are suspicious of Harpreet’s in-laws. Therefore, we want that the truth of Harpreet’s death should come out and the matter should be properly investigated. Harpreet was a very lively person and he could never commit suicide. Therefore our demand is that the truth of Harpreet’s death should be found out.
