Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya said that the Food Processing Industry Policy-2023 of the Uttar Pradesh Government is rapidly developing the state as a major industrial hub. This policy is giving a new impetus to investment, employment and exports as well as increasing the income of farmers and providing a strong foundation to start-ups and entrepreneurship.
He said that in the meeting of the State Level Empowered Committee, 22 projects were approved, in which investment of about ₹ 500 crore is proposed and a grant of about ₹ 55 crore will be given. So far, 460 projects have been approved, which has accelerated the expansion of the food processing sector in the state.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the priority of the government is to increase the participation of local farmers by directly connecting them with the supply of raw materials, which will lead to a permanent increase in their income. Besides, by giving wide publicity to the policy, youth and start-ups will be motivated to set up more and more industries.
He expressed confidence that this policy will provide new strength to the rural economy by making the state a leader in agro-based industries.
