Gautam Adani summons: The summons issued against industrialist Gautam Adani in the US Securities and Exchange Commission case has reached Ahmedabad, but the administration is silent. The summons has been requested that if the summons cannot be served, then a report should be presented in English, in which it should be explained why it could not be served. In November last year, the US Securities and Exchange Commission registered a case against Gautam Adani. In which Sagar Adani and other officials of Adani Green Limited were also made. It is alleged that an attempt was made to make projects in its favor by paying bribe to government officials.
In this case, the US sought help from the Central Government to initiate further investigation against industrialist Gautam Adani in the US Securities and Exchange Commission case, as there is a treaty of mutual cooperation in legal matters between the two countries.
A summons notice was sent to Adani after the US request. Summons have been sent by the Central Government to the Ahmedabad Sessions Court and the court has been asked to take it to Ahmedabad’s residence in Ahmedabad.
This summons notice is dated 27 February by the Ministry of Law and Justice of the Central Government sent it to the District and Sessions Court of Ahmedabad. It has also been requested that if the summons is not relevant to this court, then the process of sending it to another relevant court should be completed.
However, if the summons is not served, the central government has also urged the government to send a report in English, in which it should be explained why the summons could not be served.
India and the US have signed the treaty of cooperation in legal matters. The Government of India has taken immediate action as a legal case is pending in a US court. In this situation, there is no reason to believe that the summons notice issued by the Central Government on February 27 will not be valid for 15 days. The Government of India does not want to lag behind in international affairs. Ignorance or silence of Ahmedabad police and court sources has become a topic of discussion in legal and lawyer circles.
