News India Live, Digital Desk: There was a time when we used to import everything from outside for our army, from needles to cannons. But now the wind is changing, and that too very fast. Today we are talking about that Brahmastra of India, which first protected Armenia and now the world’s superpower, France, has its eyes set on it. Yes, we are talking about the pride of India. ‘Pinaka Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher’ (Pinaka MBRL) of.

The latest news is that this Indian rocket system is being discussed a lot in a big defense magazine of America and it is being claimed that France is showing great interest in purchasing Pinaka system for its army.

After all, why did France need this?

Now you will think that France itself makes fighter planes like Rafale, why does it need our rockets? The matter is a bit complicated. Actually, the French Army has been using the American made M270 rocket system till now. But these systems are now quite old. The news is that France is looking for a partner to replace them who is both modern and whose attacks are also accurate.

This is where India enters Pinaka Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher of. Recently, an American report has hinted that the French Army may soon join hands with India to purchase the ‘guided version’ of Pinaka. If this deal is confirmed, it will be no less than Diwali for India’s defense sector.

What is the specialty of ‘Pinaka’? (Pinaka Rocket LRGR 120)

Let us now understand in simple language what is so special about this ‘LRGR 120’ or Pinaka. Pinaka is named after Lord Shiva’s bow ‘Pinaka’, and it does exactly the same thing – destruction of the enemy.

Its biggest feature is that it is “multi-barrel”. That means many rockets are loaded on a single vehicle. This system can fire 12 dreaded rockets into enemy territory in the blink of an eye, i.e. within just 44 seconds. Imagine, there can be devastation in the enemy camp in less than a minute.

The version currently being discussed is Guided rocket variants. Old rockets only went straight, but this guided Pinaka locks the enemy’s position and hits the target with precision. Be it a bunker hidden behind the mountains or a moving tank, it is impossible to escape.

Cheaper and more durable than HIMARS

You must have heard the name of American system HIMARS a lot during the Ukraine war. Pinaka is almost the same collision system, but best of all—it’s much cheaper. This is what France is liking the most. First of all, the technology is first class, and on top of that, the price is ‘affordable’. DRDO has made it such that it is very easy to carry and deploy anywhere.

Armenia has already shown the way

It is not that France is the first country. Earlier, Armenia, which was itself at war, had purchased Pinaka rocket system from India and according to reports, it proved to be very successful there. This deal of Armenia has increased the trust of the whole world on Indian weapons.
