News India Live, Digital Desk: Another exciting news for cricket fans! After defeating West Indies by seven wickets in the second Test match, the Indian team has strengthened its position in the points table of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27. This win was not only a series win, but it also gave a jump to India in the WTC points table.
The Indian team made a clean sweep of West Indies 2-0, due to which they got full 24 points (12 points from each match). Now India is maintaining its strong position in the WTC Points Table, because the team’s win percentage (PCT) has improved significantly. Even before this win against West Indies, India was at the top position in the table, but this win will give it more confidence and will further strengthen its claim in the race for the final.
Points for WTC are awarded on the basis of team’s performance in WTC, win-loss, draw and canceled matches. But the most important thing is the winning percentage, because on the basis of that the ranking of the teams is decided. This 2-0 win gave India full points without any penalty, which is very important because sometimes points are deducted for slow over rate.
This victory shows how organized and experienced the Indian Test team is. Both bowlers and batsmen did not allow West Indies to dominate at any stage. Now the next target of the Indian team will be to maintain the same performance in the upcoming Test series so that it can secure a place in the WTC final. Cricket lovers are now waiting for the next matches so that India’s dominance in the WTC can further increase.
