News India Live, Digital Desk: Uttar Pradesh BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary has made a scathing attack on the thinking of Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav. Chaudhary accused Akhilesh Yadav of adopting a negative attitude towards the development of the state and living in “darkness”, while he described the BJP’s rule as “ujjwala” (light).

What is the controversy?

Political rhetoric between SP and BJP often remains heated. Recently, Bhupendra Chaudhary reacted to Akhilesh Yadav’s statement in which he probably raised questions on the functioning of the BJP government or the situation in the state. Chaudhary retorted and said that Akhilesh Yadav’s thinking is backward and he is not able to accept the development of the state.

Chaudhary’s statement:

Bhupendra Chaudhary said, “There is darkness in the thinking of Akhilesh Yadav even today. He is not able to see the development of Uttar Pradesh, which has happened under the leadership of our BJP government. Our government is taking the state towards development, which is shining like ‘Ujjwala’.”

He also alleged that during the SP government, corruption and crime were rampant in the state, while BJP has improved law and order and given pace to development.

Round of political rhetoric:

Political activities are intensifying in Uttar Pradesh, especially in view of the upcoming elections. BJP and SP are continuously accusing each other. This statement of Bhupendra Chaudhary is a part of this political dilemma.

It will be important to see what effect such rhetoric has on the politics of the state and which party’s claims the public trusts.
