The effect of the weather system and expected rainfall
According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area active over Chhattisgarh and the monsoon trough passing through Chhattisgarh will be the main cause of heavy rainfall. Rising water level and caution required
Constant rains have caused river-drains in many areas to be in spate, and some low-lying areas can create waterlogging situation. In such a situation, citizens are advised to take precautions, especially to stay away from dangerous and submerged areas. There is also a need to be cautious towards events such as strong winds, celestial lightning and landslides.
The Meteorological Department says that this active weather system can continue till around 30 July, after which it is expected to decrease gradually. However, the situation is constantly being monitored.
