Android 16: Battery Health feature is bringing in Google Android 16, but will get only in these smartphones

News India Live, Digital Desk: Android 16: Google has finally introduced a new battery health feature in Android 16, fulfilling the long -standing demand of Android users. This feature will provide accurate information to users about the status and capacity of the phone’s battery. However, this feature will be available not for all Android smartphones, but only for selected Pixel models.

In which devices will this feature be available?

This feature, which was first seen in Android 16 Beta 3, is currently provided by Google for a limited number of Pixel smartphones. This feature will be available in these devices:

  • Pixel 8A
  • Pixel 9
  • Pixel 9 Pro
  • Pixel 9 Pro Fold

It is worth noting that old flagship models like Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro launched last year will not get this update. A Google developer has described it as not possible for old devices due to “technical boundaries”.

What will work Battery Health feature?

Through the Battery Health feature, users will be able to check the maximum capacity of their battery and the overall status of the battery. This will make it easier to understand why the phone’s battery is ending quickly or why the device is suddenly stopping. This feature will prove to be very helpful in deciding to change the battery or fix the device.

Testing was being done from Android 14

Google started testing this feature in Android 14 Beta from 2 to December 2023. However, the release date of this feature was not clear at that time. Now this feature will be made available in the coming months with the stable version of Android 16.

Status for other brands like Samsung, OnePlus

Currently, this battery health feature will be limited to only Pixel phones with Android 16 updates. Custom software such as Samsung’s One UI and OnePlus’s Oxygenos contain battery health tools, but they are also limited to most new phones.
