Attempt to honey trap Kolhapur’s BJP MLA:

Kolhapur Honey Trap News: An attempt by a woman to honey trap BJP MLA Shivaji Patil from Chandgarh in Kolhapur district has come to light. In this matter, MLA Patil has lodged a complaint at Chitalsar Police Station in Thane and the police have registered a case under the Information Technology Act.

According to information received from the police, Patil was receiving messages and objectionable pictures from different numbers of an unknown woman for the last few days. This woman demanded ransom from Patil in monthly installments of first Rs 1 lakh, then Rs 2 lakh and then Rs 5 lakh. But when the woman’s problems increased, he blocked the woman. Then, on the eve of the assembly elections, the woman again started sending obscene messages and videos to the contact person Shivaji Patil from another mobile number. He threatened to lodge a complaint at the police station and tarnish their image if the money was not paid. Finally, Shivaji Patil immediately reached the police and lodged a complaint.

In recent times, many politicians and industrialists have fallen into the trap of honey trap racket. However, due to the promptness of the police in this matter, MLA Patil was alerted in time and a major accident was averted. The investigating officers are tracing the concerned office and the contact details of the accused.

Troubled by all this, MLA Patil lodged a complaint in the police station on 8 October. The police have registered a case in this matter and started investigation. Initial investigation has revealed that it is a kind of honey trap. Police have started searching for the accused woman.
