1. Check the full name and publisher (developer) of the app

2. Look at the number of downloads and reviews

Genuine banking apps have been on the App Store for years, so their downloads number in the millions.

• Original App: You’ll see millions or billions of downloads and thousands of trustworthy reviews.
• Fake App: The number of downloads of the fake app will be very low (a few hundred or thousand). Their reviews may also seem strange to you – the praise may be exaggerated or there may be many mistakes in their language (English).

3. Do not download from any unknown link or APK file

This is the biggest red flag. No bank ever asks you to download their app from a link sent on WhatsApp, SMS or email.
