Medinipur, December 23: In protest against the brutal murder of Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh, a protest march was taken out by Bajrang Dal in Dantan at around 8 pm on Monday evening. This march started from Dantan Petrol Pump area and concluded by circling the entire Dantan Bazaar area.
A large number of local people along with Bajrang Dal workers also participated in the padayatra. Apart from this, representatives of various Hindu organizations also participated in this protest. During the march, the protesters held placards in their hands and raised slogans against the atrocities on minorities in Bangladesh and demanded strict action against the culprits.
At the conclusion of the padyatra, Bajrang Dal workers expressed their anger by burning the symbolic effigy of Bangladesh Prime Minister Mohammad Yunus. During this time, the atmosphere in the entire area appeared very emotional and angry. There was deep anger among the common people regarding the incident.
It is noteworthy that a few days ago, Dipu Chandra Das was brutally murdered in Bangladesh. It is alleged that after the murder, his body was hanged from a tree and burnt in public. After the video of this heart-wrenching incident went viral on social media, there was outrage across the country and it was strongly condemned in the country and abroad.
Reaction against this incident is also being seen in different parts of West Bengal. Through this protest organized in Dantan, Bajrang Dal and other organizations demanded to ensure the safety of the minority community in Bangladesh, give strict punishment to the culprits and create pressure at the international level to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
