News India Live, Digital Desk: The matter is of Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh. The District Magistrate here now has to face the strictness of the court. The High Court has clearly refused to take back the cost/fine imposed on him. Let us understand in very simple words how such a big mess happened?
What was the matter?
Actually, this entire incident was related to the service matter of a government employee. The court had asked for a reply (counter affidavit) from DM Saheb. The court kept giving time again and again, but the necessary reply was not filed by the administration.
We all know that there are often delays in government work, which is called ‘red tape’. But the court did not like this slowness at all. When the reply was not received within the stipulated time, the court adopted a strict attitude and imposed a fine on the DM.
The apology request did not work
After the fine was imposed, the government lawyer applied in the court that the fine imposed on DM Saheb should be removed (Recall Application). He might have thought that the court would agree to the request.
But this time the mood of the Justice was strict. He rejected this recall application. The court was clear that when the order was given, why was it not followed on time? This is a direct message that wastage of court time will no longer be tolerated.
Will the compensation have to be paid from pocket?
In such cases, when the court imposes ‘cost’, it means that the officer is being punished for not fulfilling his responsibility. It is not just a matter of money, it also becomes a question of ‘bad entry’ or reputation. Now DM Saheb will have to accept this order of the court.
What lesson is learned?
This news is a big lesson for the rest of the officers of UP also. It has now become a thing of the past to sit behind pressing files on public works or court cases. If you remain lazy, the court’s action can take place at any time.
At present, there is panic in the administrative corridor of Balrampur after this order. It is also true, there must be fear of law, only then the system will run properly.
