Bank holiday: Today i.e. from 1 April 2025, the new financial year has started. Every year on April 1, there is a holiday in banks across the country. According to RBI rules, banking services are closed on 1 April due to heavy burden of closing accounts in the last days of the financial year. However, net banking and digital transactions will continue. Along with the new financial year, RBI has also introduced the new bank holiday calendar.

Banks in Gujarat will remain closed for a total of 10 days in April. Whereas banks will remain closed for a total of 16 days across the country, including weekends and festivals holidays. Therefore, it is necessary to check the holiday list before completing any necessary bank work.

The month of April includes local holidays in addition to local holidays due to various festivals in various states. It includes festivals like Mahavir Jayanti, Ambedkar Jayanti, Good Friday, Bohag Bihu, Baswa Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya. Apart from this, Babu Jagjivan Ram Jayanti, Sarhul, Tamil New Year, Himachal Day, Vishu, Cheiraoba, Garia Pooja and Parashuram Jayanti are also included.

Banks will remain closed for a total of 10 days in Gujarat. In which there will be a public holiday on April 1, and on April 10, there will be a holiday on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. On April 14, banks will remain closed due to Ambedkar Jayanti. After this, banks will remain closed due to Good Friday on 18 April. Apart from this, there will be a second holiday on 12 April, 26 April and fourth Saturday, as well as 6 April, April 13, April 20 and 27 April.
