Banshi Pahariya Jail News: It is a common belief that leaders do not care about anyone. They do not fear the law at all. They run business in the name of service. A wrong example is also given about public servants – 'If you do not go to jail, you cannot become a leader'. Be it a leader, MLA or MP or local councilor or the so-called young leader or senior leader roaming everywhere, you must have heard such things about everyone at some time or the other. Often there are strong reasons behind such examples. Talking about the latest example, when the court in Bulandshahr, UP sentenced former Khurja MLA of Samajwadi Party, Banshi Pahariya, to 3 years and 11 months, his name came into the headlines.

The MP/MLA court of Bulandshahr had sentenced former Congress MLA from Khurja, Bansi Singh Pahadia, to three years and 11 months' imprisonment for violating the model code of conduct and violating Covid-19 guidelines during the 2022 assembly election campaign.

Who is Pahariya? What happened two years ago, now he is in jail

A case was also registered against him in 2009. That case was also for violation of the code of conduct. In the 2012 UP assembly elections, Pahadia won the election from Khurja assembly on a Congress ticket and became an MLA. Some time ago, the file of the cases registered against him reached the MP-MLA court. The court issued a non-bailable warrant when Banshi Pahadia did not appear in court. Pahadia was convicted under sections of the Uttar Pradesh Public Health and Epidemic Act, Disaster Management Act 2005, Epidemic Amendment and other relevant laws and was sent to jail in judicial custody.

Talking about other cases apart from the Model Code of Conduct, a case was registered against Pahadia for violating the Disaster Management Act, Epidemic Amendment (Ordinance) 2020 and sections of the IPC. Along with this, a fine of Rs 51000 was also imposed on him. This case is of the night of 3 February 2022. When there was a public relations program of former CM Akhilesh Yadav and RLD supremo Jayant Chaudhary in support of SP-RLD alliance candidate Bansi Pahadia in Khurja city.

During that time, the law was openly flouted. After which Sub Inspector Pradeep Gautam lodged an FIR against Bansi Pahariya and a crowd of about 400 to 500 (unknown people) in Khurja Nagar Kotwali. It was alleged in the report that after the Jan Sampark Yatra ended, Pahariya violated the rules of the Corona Guidelines and took out a rally of 30-40 cars and bikes and gathered crowds at many places.
