The pace of development in the tribal dominated district of Rajasthan Banswara is going to intensify now. There is a great news for the people here-soon the district is going to get the gift of two new state highways, SH-54A and SH-91A. These highways will not only improve local connectivity, but will also connect Banswara to cities like Pratapgarh and Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh.

State Highway SH-54A: Garhi to Madhya Pradesh border

SH-54A will be started from Garhi, which is already connected to the National Highway-927A. This highway will reach the border of Madhya Pradesh near Bagayacha village via Bagidaura, Kalinjara and Kushalgarh, where Bhairu Padhra police post is located. From here, this road will be connected to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Thandla, which will give a national level connectivity directly to Banswara.

  • Total Length: 80.447 km
  • Prominent place: Garhi, Bagidaura, Kalinjara, Kushalgarh
  • Benefits: Direct contact with Ratlam and Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

State Highway Sh-91a: Dhariyavad to Sabla

The second highway, SH-91A, will pass through Dhariyavad in Pratapgarh district. This road will go from Dhariyavad to Parsola and then Sabla. The length of this part will be 30.900 km.

  • Total Length: 30.9 km
  • Prominent place: Dhariyavad, Parasola, Sabla
  • Current Status: Equeridiate Road (Between Single and Double)
  • Upgradation: two-lane state highway will change

80 villages will be directly connected to the state highway

After this project, about 80 villages will get direct state highway connectivity. Of these:

  • 60 villages are between Garhi-Bagidaura-Kalinjara-Kushalgarh in Banswara district.
  • 20 villages are in Dhariyavad-Parsola-Sabla area of Pratapgarh.

These villages currently have only single lane roads, which keeps the traffic slow and uncomfortable. Now these roads will be converted into a two-lane state highway, which will reduce travel time and increase facilities.

5 to 7 lakh people will directly benefit

This project will directly benefit 5 to 7 lakh people of Banswara and Pratapgarh districts. Especially those people who live in more than 500 such andrs of these 80 villages, this connectivity will be like a new life for them.

This highway will not only connect them to the district headquarters, but also make access to employment, education and health services.

Big benefits – direct link to expressway

The biggest advantage will be that Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which is the major corridor of the country, will now remain just a few kilometers from these areas. This will not only intensify goods and passenger transport, but will also create new commercial and industrial opportunities.

Project cost and timeline

  • Total cost: ₹ 334 crore
  • Tender (Tender): Bid will open in April
  • Period of construction: about 1.5 years
  • Project Incharge: Dinesh Kumar Meena, XEN (Project), PWD Banswara

Both highway parts will be constructed under the same NIT, which will maintain the speed of work and the cost will be controlled.

Connectivity will increase regional development

This project will not only improve the connectivity of Banswara, but will also speed up tourism, trade and social development. The border districts like Banswara and Pratapgarh, which have been a little behind in the race for development till now, will now move towards “highway from development”.
