Islamabad: China has become worried after the death of two Chinese engineers in the bomb blast at Karachi airport last month. The two engineers were returning to work after a holiday in Thailand when they were killed in a car bomb explosion. Apart from this, there have been serial attacks on Chinese citizens, due to which China has become worried and has lost confidence in Pakistan’s police force or army for the safety of its citizens. Therefore, China has demanded to deploy its security guards before Islamabad. That’s why Shahbaz government of Pakistan is in trouble.
A Pakistani official, on condition of anonymity, said that Pakistan does not consider this condition acceptable right now. He says that our security forces are sufficient and capable to protect Chinese citizens. However, China does not accept that claim.
On the other hand, China’s Foreign Ministry said, ‘Thousands of Chinese citizens are working in Pakistan. They also work with Pakistani nationals in the construction and education sectors. Their security has been well arranged. He refused to say anything more than that.
But observers believe it is true that the killings of Chinese citizens have soured relations between the two countries.
