Bettiah: Good works have been done for the development of tribal areas in West Champaran district.
Review meeting was held in the Collectorate Auditorium under the chairmanship of Honorable Member, National Scheduled Tribes Commission, Shri Nirupam Chakma.

A review meeting of the schemes implemented for the welfare and development of Scheduled Tribes in the district was held today under the chairmanship of Honorable Member, National Scheduled Tribes Commission, Shri Nirupam Chakma.
District Officer, Shri Dharmendra Kumar welcomed and greeted the Honorable Member, National Scheduled Tribes Commission and welcomed him. Thereafter, the honorable member and District Officer emphasized environmental protection by planting saplings in the collectorate premises.

After planting, a review meeting was held in the Collectorate Auditorium. The Hon’ble Member was given detailed information about the work being done for the betterment of the Scheduled Tribes community in the district through the power presentation by the District Officer, Shri Dharmendra Kumar and Additional Collector, Departmental Investigation, Shri Kumar Ravindra.

In the course of review, the Honorable Member, National Scheduled Tribes Commission said that better works have been done in the district towards the overall development and welfare of the Scheduled Tribes, it needs to be done in a better way so that the welfare and upliftment of the Scheduled Tribes class people can be done properly.

He gave many important suggestions to the district administration including strengthening the medical system in VTR area, taking action for establishing a degree college in Tribal Area, establishing Eklavya Model School.

In the meeting, Honorable Chairman Scheduled Tribes Commission, Bihar, Shri Shailendra Kumar also expressed their suggestions on many other points including Tribal Hostel, Nal-Jal Yojana.

District Officer, Mr. Dharmendra Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Bettiah, Dr. Shaurya Suman, Superintendent of Police, Bagaha, Mr. Sushant Kumar Saroj and other concerned officials, National Scheduled Tribes Commission officials etc. were present on the occasion.
