News India Live, Digital Desk: National Investigation Agency (NIA) On Saturday, a large -scale detective campaign was launched, raiding 15 places in eight states. This broad action is part of the ongoing investigation into Pakistan -related espionage case, in which the arrest of a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan has been found important from the recent arrest.
The raids were killed at the homes of people who were suspected of cooperating with Pakistani intelligence agencies. According to a report by the Times of India, coordinated action was taken in Delhi, Mumbai (Maharashtra), Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Assam and West Bengal.
During the action taken on the basis of intelligence information, NIA teams have allegedly seized a stock of electronic equipment, sensitive financial documents and other objectionable materials. These important items are now being investigated forensic. According to reports, the investigating agency wants to highlight the intricacies of a detective gang, which is believed to be carried out by agents sitting in Pakistan under the anti -India comprehensive terrorist conspiracy.
The NIA officially registered a case on May 20 after the initial arrest of the CRPF jawan. Investigation revealed that the jawan had been allegedly sharing confidential information related to national security with Pakistani operatives since 2023. In return for leaking sensitive data, he allegedly received money through various channels within India.
The former jawan has been dismissed from service and is currently in NIA custody. The ongoing investigation is being conducted under strict legal provisions, including sections 61 (2), 147 and 148 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS), Section 3 and 5 (related to unauthorized communication of secret official information) and illegal activities (UA (P) Act), 1967, which involves the involvement in the terrorist functions.
