Lucknow. There has been a big political uproar in Uttar Pradesh regarding deletion of names in the voter list amid the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. When the ground reality was scrutinized after the serious allegations made by Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, shocking facts have come to light in Chillawan village of Sarojini Nagar assembly seat of Lucknow. It is alleged that a single person submitted ‘Form-7’ to get the names of more than 100 people deleted, while all those voters are not only alive but also residents of the same area.
Chillawan Primary School: BLO made a big disclosure
During the investigation at Ground Zero, three BLOs posted at Chillawan Primary School have confirmed this conspiracy.
Hundreds of forms submitted: One BLO had 127 forms, another had 27 and the third had about 50 forms to cut the names.
Live people declared ‘dead/absent’: The BLO said that when he checked these forms, it was found that all the people whose names have been applied for deletion are living there and are alive. After this the BLO stopped the process of removing these names from the list.
Voters’ anger: ‘We are alive, still why the conspiracy?’
The voters present on the spot expressed their anger and a conspiracy was hatched to get their names deleted. The victims showed that the application was made by a person named Dashrath Kumar (Dasrath Yadav) against their name. Voters say that they have been living here for years, yet a conspiracy is being hatched to snatch away their democratic rights by making them appear absent.
Heated argument between accused and BLO: ‘Pressure was put on me’
When Dashrath Kumar, the main accused in this case, was questioned, he put the entire blame on the BLO. Dashrath claims that the BLO had provided him the forms. However, when the BLO was called to the spot, the situation became even more serious:
BLO claims: The BLO alleged that Dashrath Kumar is continuously pressurizing him to delete his name.
Speaking of evidence: The BLO claimed that they have solid evidence and audio recordings of this pressure.
One-on-one debate: There was a heated argument between the BLO and the accused in the presence of the villagers, in which the BLO made it clear that it was Dashrath who had submitted these forms by labeling him as suspicious.
What is the controversy of Form-7?
Akhilesh Yadav had alleged that BJP people were getting the names of Samajwadi Party supporters removed from the voter list as part of a well-planned strategy. This case of Lucknow has now become a big challenge for the Election Commission also.
