Lucknow. Relief news is coming for about 1.47 lakh Shikshamitras who have been serving in the primary schools of Uttar Pradesh for the last several years. After a long wait, the state government is seriously considering increasing the honorarium (Shiksha Mitra Salary Hike) of Shiksha Mitras and about 28 thousand instructors. According to official sources, in-principle discussions on this topic have been completed at the government level. If everything goes as per plan, for the first time since 2017, Shikshamitras may see a respectable increase in their monthly salaries.

Will you be exempted from the limit of ₹10,000? The increase can be this much

At present, Shikshamitras get a fixed honorarium of Rs 10,000 per month. Nine years ago i.e. in 2017, it was increased from Rs 3500 to Rs 10 thousand, but since then inflation has increased manifold but the honorarium remained the same.

Potential Increase: There is discussion that the government will pay at least Rs 2000 per month Can increase.

Financial Assessment: Budget availability and future financial burden are being assessed at the governance level so that this increase can be implemented permanently.

Education Minister’s statement raised new hopes

Recently, Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh had shown positive attitude towards Shikshamitras during a teachers union program. He had clarified that the government is sensitive towards the problems and demands of Shikshamitras. After this statement, the commotion in the corridors of the Education Department has intensified and it is believed that the file is now moving towards the final decision.

The demand echoed in political circles also

The issue of Shikshamitras was not limited to the streets only, but MLAs from both the ruling party and the opposition have raised it strongly in the Assembly several times. The MLAs have been arguing that the contribution of Shikshamitras in maintaining the quality of primary education is equal to that of teachers, hence they should get respectable honorarium in this era of inflation.

Eyes are on the budget session

The final decision on increasing the honorarium of Shikshamitras is possible only after the upcoming budget process. The main focus of the government is on how to manage this additional burden on the state exchequer. If adequate provision is made for this in the budget, it will prove to be a Diwali gift for 2.5 lakh families of the state.
