There is news of relief for those who pay income tax, especially for those who have recently received notice from the department. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the time limit for late or revised ITR for taxpayers of a particular group.
This relief is given for the financial year 2022-23 (evaluation year 2023-24).
Who is this relief for people?

Why was this decision taken?
Usually when the Income Tax Department sees any disturbance or ambiguity in an ITR, it sends notice for its detailed investigation (scrutiny). In this process, the taxpayer has to give some more information, after which they may need to improve their ITR. Keeping this in mind, CBDT has given them another chance to rectify their mistakes and file returns correctly.
This is a welcome step, which will help taxpayers fulfill their tax responsibilities correctly without any stress.
