News India Live, Digital Desk: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh Visited INS Vikrant on Friday, who played an important role during ‘Operation Sindoor’. The Union Minister met the naval personnel on the aircraft carrier. The Defense Minister’s visit took place amidst increasing tension with Pakistan.
INS Vikrant, India’s fourth aircraft carrier
INS Vikrant Indian India -run India is the fourth aircraft carrier. The other includes the INS Vikrant of the British period which was in operation from 1961 to 1997, INS Virat, which was commissioned in 1987 and started operations in 2016 and INS Vikramaditya of Russian origin, which was commissioned in 2013 and which is still in operations.
INS Vikrant was included in the service by Prime Minister Narendra Modi 2 years ago. It was built at an estimated cost of Rs 20,000 crore over a period of 13 years. The vessel has 76 percent indigenous material and is 262 meters long. It has 15 decks and has 2,300 cans.
INS Vikrant can take 30 aircraft at a time. It played a very important role during India’s Operation Sindoor against Pakistan. The aircraft carrier served as a strategic preventive, forcing Pakistan to surrender. Singh’s visit seems to be an attempt to praise the Navy personnel on the ship for his role during the operation against Pakistan earlier this month.
Rajnath warns Pakistan
Rajnath Singh warned Pakistan by riding on the aircraft carrier. He said, “Pakistan should understand that the dangerous game of terrorism against India since independence is over.” He also warned the neighboring country that India would not hesitate to use methods to deal with terrorism, which Pakistan cannot even think about.
He described Operation Sindoor as a direct attack against terrorism and warned that Pakistan should not make the mistake of seeing it as just a military action. He further said that anti -India activities are going on openly in Pakistan and India is completely independent to take any action against the border and the seas and across the sea.
He also said that world is accepting India’s right to protect its citizens against terrorism and no one can stop India from running any campaign against terrorism.
Navy praise
The Defense Minister also praised the role of naval personnel in Operation Sindoor. He said that the Navy of the country has influenced every Indian with its silent service. He said that they are tied to the Pakistani army.
He said that when the Indian Air Force was destroying terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir, the aggressive deployment of the Navy in the Arabian Sea confined the Pakistani Navy to its own shore.
