Biggest Proof of Identity: New rules of birth certificate issued in Bihar, know how to get approval

News India Live, Digital Desk: Biggest Proof of Identity: There has been a big change in the rules for making birth certificates in Bihar. The state government has implemented new rules with the aim of making the process of birth certificate more transparent and reliable. According to these new rules, if the child’s birth is more than 1 year old, then it will now be mandatory to get the approval of the Sub -Divisional Officer (SDM – Sub -Divisional Magistrate) to get his birth certificate. These changes have been considered effective since April 11, 2023. First, if the child was born more than a year, the birth certificate could be made directly from the Superintendent of the hospital, the civil surgeon or the Principal of the Medical College. However, now the approval of SDM has been made important by changing this process. The state government believes that this step has been taken to curb fake certificates and ensure the truth of the records of birth and death. This will also ensure that there is no irregularity in making certificates and every certificate is valid. According to these rules, the parents of newborn children have been advised to apply for the birth certificate within 21 days of the child’s birth. This process will be comfortable and simple when applying within this period. If an application is made within 21 days to one year, the certificate can be issued with the written consent of the head of the gram panchayat, ward member, municipal corporation or the chairman of the Nagar Panchayat in urban areas. But if it is more than one year, now formal permission of SDM will be required. The state government has given clear instructions that all government institutions such as government and private hospitals, and private nursing homes must compulsorily implement the registration of birth and death. Its purpose is to keep the data accurate and update. These new rules may cause some trouble to people, especially those who did not make their children’s birth certificate on time, but this step is an important step towards ensuring the authenticity of documents and the purity of government records.
