Bihar Voter List Dispute in Supreme Court: RJD’s protest against ECI’s special revision

News India Live, Digital Desk: The ongoing controversy over the voter list in Bihar has now reached the Supreme Court. The Rashtriya Janata Dal RJD has filed a petition in the Supreme Court and objected to the ‘Special Intensive Revision’ process of the voter list being conducted by the Election Commission ECI. The case has taken the form of political fierce battle in Bihar, in which various political parties are face to face. RJD alleges that this revision process being carried out by the Election Commission is not transparent and there is a possibility of rigging, which may have a direct impact on the democratic process. The party claims that the names of voters can be removed from the list on a large scale under the pretext of this ‘special intensive revision’, which can affect the upcoming elections. Protests have also been observed in Bihar’s Parliament on this issue, where RJD leaders have expressed their concerns outstanding. Different parties – different parties – are coming out of different parties – BJP JDU and Congress. While some parties are supporting the process of ECI, some other parties are taking the allegations of RJD seriously or expressing their doubts. With the petition filed in the Supreme Court, the matter has now come under the purview of judicial inquiry, hoping that the fairness and transparency of the process will be decided. The matter will have a far -reaching impact on the political and electoral process of Bihar, as the fair voter list is the backbone of a healthy democracy.
