The BJP has released the list of its candidates for the Maharashtra Legislative Council by -election. Three names have been included in this list. These include Sandeep Diwakar Rao Joshi, Sanjay Kishan Rao Kenekar and Dadarao Yadav Rao Kache. By -elections are to be held in five seats of Maharashtra Legislative Council.
How many names were announced?
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released a list of three names for the upcoming assembly by -elections in Maharashtra. The list released by the BJP includes the names of Sandeep Diwakar Rao Joshi, Sanjay Kishanrao Kanekar, Dadarao Yadavrao Kache. When will elections be held?
There are 288 MLAs in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. BJP has 132 MLAs, Shiv Sena has 57 and NCP has 41 MLAs. The ruling BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP alliance are likely to win five vacant seats. According to the Election Commission, the by -election is to be held on 27 March. This election has become necessary due to the victory of five MLC in the November 2024 assembly elections. Three of the MLC winning elections were from BJP, one from Shiv Sena and one from NCP.
What is the last date to fill the candidature form?
The notification for the by -election was issued on 10 March. The last date for filing nomination papers is 17 March. The last date for investigation of nomination papers is 18 March. Names will be withdrawn by 20 March. Voting will be held on 27 March if necessary.
