News India Live, Digital Desk: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started finalizing its strategy regarding West Bengal Assembly Election. BJP has finalized the names of about 140 candidates for the elections likely to be held at the end of April. The most important thing is that this time the party has made a big change in its entire strategy, taking lessons from two big mistakes made in the 2021 elections.
Important meeting held at PM Modi’s residence A major meeting of BJP’s Central Election Committee (CEC) was held in Delhi on Thursday. Interestingly, usually such meetings are held at the party headquarters, but this time the meeting was held at the official residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi (7 Lok Kalyan Marg). This was the first meeting of the election committee after new party president Nitin Naveen took charge. Consensus has been reached regarding the names of candidates for almost half of the total 294 assembly seats in Bengal.
These giants can be included in the first list The main focus of the party is to create a psychological edge over its opponents by releasing its first list soon. According to sources, there is every possibility that the names of former state president Dilip Ghosh, former Union Minister Nisith Pramanik and powerful leader Shubhendu Adhikari will be included in this first list. Apart from this, BJP is also planning to field many former MPs in the Assembly battle. However, unlike last time, this time no sitting MP will be given ticket.
Which 2 mistakes of 2021 did BJP learn from? In the 2021 assembly elections, BJP achieved the status of the main opposition party by registering a landslide victory on 77 seats. But later due to many MLAs changing sides, this number came down to 65. Keeping this in mind, two major changes have been made this time:
Avoidance of turncoats: This time, the leaders leaving Trinamool Congress (TMC) will not be given tickets easily, because the risk of such leaders returning to their old party after winning is high.
Distance maintained from celebrities: Instead of film stars and celebrities, this time the party will bet on loyal and grassroots leaders. Celebrities often become politically inactive shortly after elections.
Reliance on grassroots workers and winning faces The BJP leadership wants to give the message that common workers are respected in the party. This time, in the selection of candidates, not only the winning factor, but also the candidate’s organizational ability, dedication towards the party and caste equations are being closely examined. Most of the party’s current 65 MLAs can be fielded again.
Amit Shah’s 7th Pay Commission masterstroke BJP has already sounded the trumpet of its election campaign in the state. Recently, while addressing a big rally, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had made a big promise to the people of Bengal that the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission will be implemented immediately as soon as the BJP government is formed in the state.
