Something similar happened in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, where the administration’s bulldozer roared for 3 hours to free the government land from encroachment. This was not a small operation, but action was taken on a very large scale, due to which there was panic in the area for hours.
So what was the whole matter?
In fact, in Ranchi’s Badagain area, Hotwar area, Hehal area, Gaadi area, Itki area and Piska area, constructions were done by illegally occupying the government land for years. These were not just small huts, but permanent shops, houses and big buildings were built. These encroachers are sometimes from the poor class, and sometimes they are also those who, knowingly, commit suicide on government land.
How did this ‘grand campaign’ happen?
The big thing is that this action has been taken on the direct instructions of Ranchi DC and SSP. Police and administration keep strict vigil in such campaigns. There were complete security arrangements so that no untoward incident happens and any kind of protest can be avoided. The administration started demolishing the illegal constructions one by one. In this operation that continued for three hours, the bulldozer kept demolishing one construction after another. This action created an atmosphere of fear among the illegal encroachers, while the common people are calling it the right step.
And what next?
At present, many hectares of government land has been freed from encroachment, due to which land worth crores of rupees has returned to the government account. After this action, it is clear that the administration will continue to take such strict steps in future also. This is a big warning for those who are in illegal occupation of government land. It is hoped that this will stop illegal encroachments in future and government land will be properly utilized.
