News India Live, Digital Desk: The roar of bulldozers has created panic among the people in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh for the last two days. The team of Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) is continuously wreaking havoc on illegal constructions in the city. In this sequence, a three-storey luxurious showroom and an entire market with 16 shops were razed to the ground in the presence of heavy police force.
This action has been taken in Pilibhit Bypass and Jagatpur area of Bareilly. The administration says that all these constructions were erected illegally, without getting the map passed. This action was so big that the entire area was converted into a cantonment.
Who was the target?
This action of BDA has been taken on the properties of colonizer Mohammad Arif, considered close to Maulana Tauqeer Raza. Officials said that notices had been sent to Mohammad Arif several times in the past, but he ignored these notices. Subsequently, the authority took this major demolition action as per law.
How was the action taken?
On Saturday morning, the BDA team reached Pilibhit Road with several bulldozers and big machines. First of all, a three-storey clothing showroom built there was demolished. After this, the team also demolished a two-storey market with 16 shops built in Jagatpur.
When the BDA team arrived to take action, some shopkeepers tried to oppose it. However, their protest could not last long in view of the heavy police force. The administration gave the shopkeepers a few hours to remove their goods, after which the bulldozers started their work.
The structure of the showroom was very strong, due to which it took two days to completely demolish it. During this action, Section 144 was also imposed in the area to deal with any kind of protest or uproar.
Vice President of BDA, Dr. A. Manikandan has made it clear that any kind of illegal construction will not be spared in the city and this campaign will continue further. This major action is also being linked to the previous riots in the city, after which the administration is continuously adopting a strict stance.
