Bettiah: Police Under Inspector (P.A.) Dev Mohan Singh, posted in Bettiah District Force, have been arrested and sent to judicial custody on the serious charge of cheating and fraud in the name of reinstatement in Bihar Police.
It is alleged that Dev Mohan Singh recovered a total of Rs 13 lakh from Raghunath Pandit, Village Bhediharwa, Thana Sathi resident by pretending to pass the physical efficiency test under the Bihar Daroga Restoration process. This amount was taken through cash and digital payment.
Dev Mohan Singh is accused that he also gave a gate pass to pass the physical test in a fake way, but did not pass the examination and embezzled the money. An FIR has been registered in Sathi police station in this case.
Dev Mohan Singh was arrested after the investigation was found to be true. According to police sources, Dev Mohan Singh has similar fraud cases at other places including Patna, which has made the matter more serious.
Taking this entire episode seriously, the police department is also conducting internal investigation, so that such frauds can be completely curbed.
