CBI Investigation: Lalu Yadav does not get relief in land for job case, now will get caught in clutches

News India Live, Digital Desk: CBI Investigation: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav have once again received a big shock from the Supreme Court in the case of land for job ‘land for job scam. The Supreme Court on Wednesday disposed of the petition filed by Lalu Yadav, demanding a stay on the proceedings of the lower court. The Supreme Court refused to stay, saying that the petition in this regard is already pending in the Delhi High Court. The Supreme Court’s clear comment: “The lower court proceedings will not stop” According to the report of Live Law, an application was filed in the Supreme Court through Advocate Mudit Gupta, in which the trial court (lower court) proceedings were sought by 12 August. A bench of Justice MM Sundresh and Justice N. Kotishwar Singh commented on the petition, saying that the Framing of Charges (Framing of Charges) will depend on the decision of the petition pending in the Delhi High Court. The bench also clarified that if the charges are framed in the lower court, the pending petition in the High Court will automatically become useless. This comment could create another legal trouble for Lalu Yadav. It was also disappointed in the last hearing that earlier, on July 18, the Supreme Court refused to stay the hearing of the case on 18 July. Lalu Yadav challenged the Delhi High Court verdict in the apex court, in which his demand for a lower court to stop prosecution was rejected. This is the second consecutive time when the Supreme Court has refused to give him relief in this case, which has cleared the way of CBI investigation against him. What is the ‘Land for Job’ scam? Actually, the whole matter is between 2004 and 2009, when Lalu Prasad Yadav was a railway minister in the central government. It is alleged that during this time, many other people, including Lalu Yadav and other members of his family, together did a big scam to give jobs in the railway in exchange for land. According to the CBI, many persons were given jobs in completely ignoring the rules in the posts of Group D in Railways. Lands worth crores of rupees were allegedly written to the Lalu family in the name of the families of the benefits or their close ones. This recent decision of the Supreme Court will further increase the legal challenges of the Lalu family in this much talked scam.
