Firozabad: On the second Monday of Shravan month in Firozabad district of Uttar Pradesh, the incident of alleged meat on the path of Kavad Yatra was stirred up in the local administration. Angry Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists started protesting immediately. According to eyewitnesses, during the Kavad Yatra on Tuesday, some pieces of meat were found on a path, which was considered an insult to the holy path.
Local leaders and members of VHP immediately reached the spot and lodged a protest. He alleged that it has been deliberately attempted to hurt the religious sentiments of Kanwari. The protesters demanded strict action against the convicts who threw meat and appealed to arrest them. The protesters said that they would continue to protest until strict action is taken against the culprits.
Local police and administrative officers reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. He assured the protesters to calm down and understand the seriousness of the case and assured the investigation. The police have currently seized meat samples from there and are investigating CCTV footage to identify the culprits. The administration has assured the Kanwar passengers that their safety will be ensured and such incidents will not be allowed to happen again. This incident underlines the need to be sensitive to the faith of devotees in the holy month of Sawan.
