News India Live, Digital Desk: When the entire country was immersed in Diwali celebrations, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came to fulfill a special and old tradition of his. Like every year, this time too, on the morning of Diwali, he was among the people of Vantangiya community settled in Jungle Tikonia number 3 village of Gorakhpur, whom he considers as his ‘family’. CM Yogi not only shared the happiness of Diwali with the children here, but also gave them many big gifts related to education, health and development. A tradition which did not break even after becoming the Chief Minister. CM Yogi’s relationship with the Vantangiya community dates back to the time when he was the MP of Gorakhpur and these people did not even have any government identity. Yogi Adityanath had fought a long struggle to connect this community settled in the forests with the mainstream of society. Even after becoming the Chief Minister, he did not forget this struggle and his people. This is the reason why every year he celebrates the festival of Diwali not in the glamor of Ayodhya or Lucknow, but among these forest dwellers. “15 years ago there was only scarcity here.” After distributing sweets, books and school bags to the children, CM Yogi while addressing the people remembered the old days. He said, “When I used to come here 15 years ago, there was only scarcity all around. There were no houses to live in, no drinking water, no electricity, and no schools for children. Today I am happy that every family here has a permanent house and is getting the benefits of every government scheme.” “Those who were deprived of development are in the mainstream today.” On this occasion, CM Yogi also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth crores of rupees. He said that the intention of the government is clear – to bring the society which was till now left behind in the race of development, to the forefront. Referring to the Ayodhya Deepotsav, he said that today’s Ayodhya is working to connect everyone and has become the identity of the new Uttar Pradesh of the new India. This Diwali tradition of CM Yogi is not limited to celebrating just one festival, but it is a relationship of development and trust which has continued for years.
