Congress is heading towards century for the first time after 10 years

New Delhi, June 04 (HS). The counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 is going on since this morning and now the final results of many seats have also started coming. These results have also brought good news for the opposition. For the first time after 10 years, Congress is moving towards a century, while the opposition has also brought more than 200 seats. Congress has maintained a lead on 99 seats. With this, Congress has also indicated to sit in the opposition.

According to the data of the Election Commission, BJP is leading in 242 Lok Sabha seats and is 30 seats away from majority. Its allies Janata Dal U (JDU) has won 14 seats and TDP has won 16 seats. Chirag Paswan's LJP (Ram Vilas) has maintained a lead in 5 seats. The BJP candidate has already been declared unopposed winner in Surat seat of Gujarat. With this, the way has been cleared for BJP to form the government at the center with its allies.
