The tension between Russia and Ukraine seems to be decreasing after the mediation of former US President Donald Trump. On Thursday, a Ukrainian official confirmed that no energy hideout has been attacked in the last two days. The consent was reached when the White House announced an agreement between the two sides after the talks in Saudi Arabia. The main objective of this dialogue was to prevent attacks on energy infrastructure, on which both sides agreed at different levels.

Russia and Ukraine agreed to stop the attack

According to the White House, Ukrainian and Russian leadership has agreed to implement concrete measures to prevent attacks on energy bases.

A senior Ukrainian official told AFP that Russia has not attacked Ukraine’s energy facilities since March 25.
In response, Ukraine also did not attack Russian energy sites.
The US said that both countries have agreed to stop military attacks in the Black Sea as well.

However, Moscow has still demanded a relaxation in the restrictions imposed on their agricultural exports.

No major attack took place since 25 March

Ukrainian official said:

“Since 25 March, we have not seen any major attack from Russia. Therefore, we have not targeted their energy structures.”

Earlier, Russia had carried out several major attacks from 18 to 25 March.

Russia made 8 major attacks between 18 and 25 March

However, Russia had earlier made several attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities.

Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to stop the attack on energy infrastructure for 30 days on a phone call with US President Donald Trump on 19 March.
But despite this, between 18 and 25 March, Russia launched 8 attacks on Ukraine’s energy facilities.

In these attacks:
2 bomb blasts
6 drone attacks

Ukrainian officials say that till now both countries have not targeted their energy bases, but how long this situation will last, it will be a matter to be seen.
