News India Live, Digital Desk: Cricket icons: Australia’s finger all -rounder Glenn MaxwellThose who are known for their explosive batting, are nowadays in the United States of T20 cricket. He has scored a bang century in a T20 match before the new season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), which has brought him into the headlines again. Interestingly, his form has once again forced Ricky Ponting, Australian veteran and former coach of Delhi Capitals to count his merits. Ponting, who likes Maxwell a lot, has expressed great confidence in their abilities before.
The way Maxwell introduced a sample of her stormy batting in the USA shows why she is considered the master of ‘Maxwell Show’. He equaled Rohit Sharma’s Indian record of hitting the most sixes (10 sixes) in a T20I innings by hitting a total of 13 sixes in this match. Even though Maxwell’s performance is not part of any international T20 match, it definitely reflects their explosive form.
Kings XI failed in Punjab, but Ricky Ponting’s favorite:
Ricky Ponting has long been a fan of Glenn Maxwell. Interestingly, Maxwell’s career in IPL has been somewhat unrestable, especially in Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), his performance was not as effective as expected. However, Maxwell showed a better coordination, playing with ponting at Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). Ponting has always believed that if Maxwell plays openly, it is impossible to stop them.
When Delhi Capitals bought them, Ponting clearly said, “I don’t know that you expect them to throw 3-4 overs, or they try to bat in the middle overs… It is a way to think about them and also. When he is in his best form, Maxwell shows are the best T20 batsmen in the world. He is a very good team as a person.
This statement of Ponting was still there, and today his latest century in the USA is proving how dangerous they can be when Maxwell is in rhythm. This innings will give good confidence for Maxwell before the T20 World Cup and they can also be seen in the upcoming series.
