Kunal kamra controversy: The statement of standup comedian Kunal Kamra on Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has been heated. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials have taken action against Habitat Studios in Mumbai. A part of this studio has been demolished. Kamra’s disputed show took place in this studio, in which he warmed Shinde as a traitor.
Following this dispute, Habitat Studio issued a statement temporarily closed the studio. Located at the Unicinental Hotel, Habitat Studio said that the artist is himself responsible for his thoughts and creative options. And we have never been involved in the content presented by him. But recent incidents have forced us to reconsider how repeatedly we are being blamed. We have been attacked as if we are representatives of artists. We will keep the studio closed until we find a way to provide a platform for independent expression without risking ourselves and our property.
Shiv Sena angry with statement on Eknath Shinde
Comedian Kunal Kamra made a disputed parody of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and presented it to the public. In which Shinde was called a traitor. Shiv Sena was angry with the harsh attacks on Shinde. He vandalized the studio and hotel Unicinental located in Khar area of Mumbai on Sunday. Shiv Sainiks claimed that the video of Kunal was recorded in this studio. Shinde Sena MLA Muraji Patel has lodged an FIR against Kunal Kamra at MIDC Police Station.
