Delhi gets some relief from ‘suffocating’ air, GRAP-3 removed; Know what will change now

Sunday (November 30) brought some relief for the people of Delhi-NCR, who have been living under the shadow of poisonous air and restrictions for a long time. There has been a slight improvement in the level of pollution in the last few days. Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI), which was continuously above the danger mark, has now dropped to below 300.

In view of this changing pattern of air, the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM) of the Central Government has withdrawn a tough decision from the capital. GRAP-3 It has been announced to lift the restrictions.

Delhi’s total on Sunday AQI 296 recorded, which is considered in the ‘Poor’ category, but it is much better than the ‘Very Poor’ or ‘Severe’ category. If we look at the last week, the graph is as follows:

What does GRAP-3 removal mean? What discount will you get?

The implementation of GRAP-3 meant strict security. With its removal, many things in the city will now be back on track:

1. Construction started: One of the biggest rules of Grape-3 was the ban on construction work. Now that it has been lifted, non-essential work like construction, demolition, boring and digging of soil can resume. This is a big relief for laborers and builders.
2. Schools and Classes: As pollution increases, it is advised to close schools or run online classes for children up to class 5. With the removal of Group 3, now the compulsion of hybrid mode can be eliminated and children will be able to go to school.
3. Decision on trains: During Grape-3, four-wheelers with BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel are banned. Now the withdrawal of this phase is expected to provide relief to these car owners.

Attention Have not got complete freedom

Understand one thing clearly – the air has not become ‘cleaner’, it has only become ‘less poisonous’. Therefore, the administration has removed GRAP-3, but the restrictions of GRAP-1 and GRAP-2 will still remain in force.

This means:

• Water sprinkling will continue on the roads.
• There will be a ban on coal/wooden tandoor in hotels or restaurants.
• PUC checking of the vehicle and dust control rules will be strictly followed.

The administration has made it clear that if the pollution level increases again, they will not delay in imposing strict rules again. So still wear a mask and take care of your health, because AQI 296 is also not ‘healthy’ air.
