A major success has been achieved in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, under the campaign against adulteration of food items. An adulterated cheese -making factory operated in Jingtaha market of Chaurichora police station area has been exposed. Here very harmful fake cheese was being made for health, in which detergent powder, caustic soda and other chemicals were used.
After receiving a secret complaint in the District Magistrate’s Office, the Food Safety and Drug Administration – FSDA team conducted raids. During this action, about 2.5 quintals (ie 250 kg) adulterated cheese and 350 liters of milk were recovered from the factory, which suspected to be poisonous. The team has also taken milk and cheese samples, which have been sent for investigation.
Police have arrested factory owner Santosh Kumar Chaurasia and his son Shubham behind this fraud. The most shocking thing is that accused Santosh Kumar Chaurasia has been arrested in the cases of adulteration in food items earlier. This shows that he is a habitual criminal and was not taking the name of improving.
Consuming such adulterated cheese and milk can prove to be fatal for humans. It can also damage many serious diseases such as stomach disorders, problems in the digestive system, and also kidney and liver in a long time. The administration has appealed to the people to be careful with such adulterated products and immediately inform the authorities about suspicious cases. This action reflects the seriousness of the administration towards the health safety of consumers and is a sign of strict action on adulterants.
