News India Live, Digital Desk: The conflict between the politics of West Bengal and the Central Investigation Agencies (ED/CBI) has now reached a new and very serious turn. The matter is no longer limited to just sending notices or making inquiries, the matter has reached the highest court of the country i.e. the Supreme Court. And the revelations made by the ED (Enforcement Directorate) have stunned everyone.

ED’s sensational claim: ‘Evidence was taken away’

During the hearing in the Supreme Court today, ED made some such allegations against the Bengal government and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee herself, which are very shocking. In common parlance, the ED has claimed before the judges that the investigation in the state is not only being stopped, but evidence is also being destroyed or removed.

ED told the court that in a case when its team was investigating, Mamata Banerjee herself reached there with the police team and allegedly took the evidence with herself. Now just imagine, if a central agency is making such a serious allegation against the Chief Minister of a state in the court, then how serious the matter will be. ED says that the police is not being used to help the investigation, but to obstruct the investigation and protect the corrupt.

Long list of serious allegations

ED did not stop here. He told the Supreme Court that the situation in West Bengal is such that it has become difficult for the central agencies to work. According to his affidavit:

  1. Attacks are carried out on investigating agencies.
  2. Digital evidence (like computers, pen drives) are destroyed or confiscated by the police so that the ED cannot access them.
  3. The state police provides protection to the accused.

These allegations clearly indicate that this ‘political war’ going on between the Center and the State has now become a one-to-one fight.

What does the law say?

ED has appealed to the Supreme Court that if evidence continues to be tampered with, it will be impossible to get justice. He says that to investigate scams, it is very important that the investigating agency be allowed to work without any fear and pressure. On the other hand, the Bengal government has always called these allegations ‘politically motivated’.

But from what has been presented in the Supreme Court today, one thing is clear that in the coming days, even bigger explosions can be seen in the politics of West Bengal. It will be interesting to see how the court looks at this matter now. Was evidence really destroyed? Or is it just a battle of statements? Only time will answer this.

Stay with us, as soon as any update comes from the court, we will definitely bring it to you.
