Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board (MPESB) has released the official notification for the recruitment of total 679 posts of Constable (Band) under Police Department. The biggest feature of this recruitment is that no traditional written examination will be taken for selection in it. Interested and eligible male candidates can apply online by visiting the official website from 5 April 2026 to 19 April 2026.

Opportunity only for male candidates, know what is the qualification

Only male candidates are eligible to apply under this special recruitment drive. Talking about educational qualification, it is mandatory for General, OBC and SC category candidates to have passed 10th (Matriculation) or Higher Secondary under 10+2 system from any recognized board. Whereas for ST category candidates, the minimum educational qualification has been kept as 8th pass. Along with this, the candidate should be adept in playing at least one musical instrument.

Age Limit and Important Dates

Age for the recruitment process will be calculated as on 19 April 2026. For general category and candidates from other states, the minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 33 years. For reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) of Madhya Pradesh, the maximum age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. they can apply till the age of 38 years.

Selection process without written examination

The selection process for Madhya Pradesh Police Constable (Band) post will be based on three main stages. In the first stage there will be ‘Skill Test’ which will be of qualifying nature only. In the second phase, there will be ‘Band Playing Test’, for which 75 marks are fixed. In the final stage an interview of 25 marks will be conducted. Apart from this, candidates will also have to undergo Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Medical Examination.

The application fee for general category candidates has been fixed at Rs 500, while for SC, ST, OBC and EWS candidates who are natives of Madhya Pradesh, the fee is Rs 250.
