Google has ‘Results About You’ Updated the dashboard, giving you better control over your digital identity. This tool not only lets you know where your information resides, but also lets you send a removal request.

What information can be removed?

Google primarily collects ‘Personally Identifiable Information’ (PII), such as:

Your personal phone number.

Home address.

email id.

Government ID card (eg Aadhar Card, PAN Card) Information for.

Your signature or medical records.

Open Google App: Open the Google App on your smartphone and tap your profile photo Tap on.

Dashboard Setup: Here you can enter your name, address and phone number. Google will track this information and send you notifications if it appears in search results.

Send request: If a link is showing your personal information, next to that result three dots (⋮) Click on. there you ‘Remove Result’ You will get the option of.

show cause: Google will ask you why you want to remove it (eg: ‘This contains my personal contact information’). Select the reason and submit.

Important things you should know

Removes from search, not web: Keep in mind that Google will simply remove that link from its search results. That information will remain on that original website (Source Website). To remove it from there you will have to contact the administrator of the website.

Track Status: You can go to the ‘Request Status’ tab in the same dashboard and see whether your request has been approved or is still pending.
